BThis week has been another whirlwind! We have accomplished so much and I'm so very proud of how hard we are working as a class. Here are the happenings in the individual subjects.
In Language Arts, we read a story called Pop's Bridge. Students learned about how to build a bridge and all the different jobs that are involved. The class unitized Google Earth to "walk" some of the bridges we learned about during the week. Our question of the week was "Why is everyone's job important?". The students were then put to the test as the class constructed their own bridge. They were having so much fun I couldn't tear them away from bridge construction!
In Math, we took our first math test. I'm so very proud of the results of the math test and could tell everyone studied very hard. We are beginning Unit 2 and the family letter was sent home. Be sure to read the letter so you can know what we are learning about in math and how to help your student with the homelinks that will be sent home!
In Science, we learned about life cycles. Students were split into groups and created posters about specific life cycles. We will be presenting these poster next week.
In Social Studies, we continued our exploration of maps. Students were introduced to latitude and longitude. We also began to brainstorm some ways we could create maps for our community around us.
Be sure to check out the pictures from our class.
Have an amazing weekend!
