Room 2 is plugging and chugging towards spring break! We are almost there, just one more week to go! In Language Arts, student read Life on the Ice. Students learned about scientist who research and sometimes live at the South and North Poles. Students focused on finding supporting details in the text that help with the author get their main idea across. Student reviewed the adverbs. Students picked a topic to write a persuasive paper about. Next week, we will take this paper through the stages of editing before the final draft is due on Wednesday. In Math, students continued their exploration of fractions. We learned about how to compare fractions using a variety of tools including a number line and our fraction strips we made last week. Students really enjoy using the doc camera to display their work on the overhead. Study guides went home today because our test is on Thursday! In Social Studies, we began our chapter about explorers and early americans. Students read about Native Americans in order to prepare for a simulation that we will do on Monday! An explorer project is coming up after spring break so be on the look out for a letter.
Have a great weekend! Ms. Cyz
