Here in third grade we love to do brain breaks! What is a brain break you ask? It's a time for students to take a quick pause from academics and recharge so they can stay sharp. In room 2 our favorite site to visit for a brain break is a website called Go Noodle. They have funny videos that help get the kids moving and give us the opportunity to be silly. If you'd like to see what go noodle is about for yourself visit the site here: https://www.gonoodle.com/s/jcyz. If 5 or more people sign up for go noodle our class can get some free noodle swag. Happy dancing!

Welcome to 3rd grade! My name is Ms. Cyz and I am a third grade teacher at St. Francis Xavier! I'm so excited you've decided to learn more about our classroom.
Let me start by sharing some information about myself professionally and personally. This is my first year teaching and I’m excited about what the school year holds! I recently graduate from the University of Iowa-Go Hawkeyes! I majored in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Language Arts and Reading. While I lived in Iowa City, I worked on a local daycare and volunteered at the Children’s Museum. I grew up in the area. I went to Lyons Township High School. In high school I ran cross country and played soccer competitively. I enjoy spending time with my family that includes my parents and my three brothers as well as my two cats and dog. I love to read and am constantly finding new books! This year in 3rd grade we are doing a lot of new things that include a Responsive classroom approach to management, a new Language Art curriculum, and the active use of I-Pads in the classroom. We will be having a classroom blog and each student will be in charge of contributing to it once a week. I will be also using class dojo and the reminder app for the classroom; instructions for both apps will be sent home this week. It’s a very exciting year and can’t wait to begin my teaching journey here! If you have any questions or concerns never hesitate to email me at [email protected] |
